In my first post on this, I talked about the three major issues gas credit card seekers were facing and an analysis of why these problems were relevant to you, if you want to profit or save the most from your credit cards through rewards.

Later, we I wrote two more posts that talked about the first two issues in-depth and the solutions to those problems. Now, we will be looking at the third: low rebate percentages or low rewards in general on your gas credit cards which will lower your savings potential.

In fact, I saved this particular problem for last because it is probably the most difficult one to solve, and involves a lot more thinking than the other two. The simple fact is, an industry-wide lowering of credit card rebate percentages is truly problematic for the individual consumer. Before, we tried things like going around to the competing gas credit cards to see if you could get a better deal. We also learned to circumvent reward limits through simultaneous use of multiple high quality reward cards. This method taught you to apply to many rewards credit cards to maximize gasoline rewards. But clearly, that will not be a way to help us solve the issue of an industry-wide rates reduction.

The core of the issue is that if low rebates and rewards are prevalent throughout the whole industry, then no matter how much you try to select the best gasoline credit cards offering rewards, you simply will not find one.

Then in this case, we do not have much of an option. The only way is to look for a different kind of credit card reward that does not necessarily involve gasoline or direct rebates.

In essence, the point I want to make here is that when you run out of options for good quality credit cards that give the reward that you specifically want, you have to settle for a different reward. Today, there are a huge selection of credit cards, and they are not just offered by big or small banks, or even finance based corporations/companies.

It used to be that the economy only had big banks that offered credit cards to buyers, but now that's starting to change quickly. When I say gasoline credit cards, you might actually be thinking of something different from what I meant originally, which are those credit cards that offer a reward in the form of gas credits for you to use at various partnering gas stations. Now generally, we are talking about the credit cards that offer cashback whenever you specifically purchase gasoline.

But who says that the cashback had to be the only way to be rewarded? There is still more variety out there, besides the simple rebates. You can easily find examples of what I'm talking about here in travel and airmiles rewards, grocery credits, and lots more.

There are companies that are not necessarily banks that offer at most major grocery stores if you sign up with them, or it could be the grocery store itself even. I see these cards being offered at practically every shopping supercentre whenever you make a purchase. The business is profitable, and it is showing.

Even if you cannot get good cashback on your credit card rebates anymore, just look for new types of rewards from the places that you normally shop at.

Still, I know that they do not always measure up, and even then these new types of rewards may themselves have low rebate percentages. But in that case, there is really not much you can do. If companies are not willing to give you rewards anymore, there's nothing you can do about it. No matter if you try to <a href "http://creditcardgasrewards.blogspot.com/2009/03/to-spend-huge-and-be-rewarded.html" target=_blank>choose cards with certain conditions to try and improve your percentages, you will not be able to get them if companies refuse to do it.

That's a basic law of supply in economics, and for consumers like us, it just means that we'll have to move on. But it's ok, because that's not happening any time soon, and if it does, it'll change again sooner or later because this credit card rewards and cashback industry is just too profitable.

So all you people that want gas credit cards to save, don't fear! We'll continue to be able to use these techniques and save as long as it credit cards in general stay profitable for businesses, and it sure will! So stay tuned for more cashback maximization techniques next time!

To spend HUGE and be rewarded?

A while back, we talked about the problems we encounter today when trying to get a great credit card with the best rewards around. We discusssed the 3 main points that are frustrating customers in their quest to find the best gas reward credit cards.
In another post, we dealt with the capped rewards issue many companies make. Today, we'll discuss the latter problems described in my earlier post, and also talk a bit about what's been going on with the economy and how that relates or affects your decision on which credit card to get, and which rewards are worth your time.

Let's get started with determining how to combat the prerequisite of spending a large amount of money using a credit card before the rewards start kicking in.
The reason this is done is to make customers/users of the credit card spend enough so that the gas reward company will have made enough money on the spending to cover all expenses from rewards. Obviously, we don't want any of this. There aren't any ways to actually stop companies from doing this, so the best option is simply to look for another credit card gas reward provider. In fact, if you look at what I wrote before about how to deal with credit card gas rewards that have a cap on them after a certain amount of rewards, you can see that you should take advantage of the companies that offer gas rewards early on, but then cap the rewards by having more than one credit card.
The only situation where you should really follow through when there is a prerequisite of spending, is when the amount of spending required is minimal, and where the rewards are large. Unfortunately, these types of cards are uncommon, as it usually results in a lot of people taking advantage of them.
Well quite frankly, there is a simple solution to this, and that's to simply ignore any credit card that does not give you rewards right away. Most credit cards that do this will not be able to offer strong rewards for you, because you've already had to spend money without getting anything back. Thus, in essence, you've had to earn your gas rewards from the credit card companies, but in reality, you should not have to do this. The whole point of getting gas rewards is for companies to attract customers. You, the customer hold the ultimate power here, and you are the one that decides what rewards you want. That's why, even though some credit cards may offer huge rewards after a prerequisite of massive spending, there's no reason to associate with them, because there are much better offers out there that don't have such requirements.

Sometimes, it is hard to tell which really gets you the best deal. That is why I recommend different approaches for different people. While most people would probably follow the advice I just gave, some of you may choose otherwise, because a lot of these companies also don't have capped rewards. You see, when a credit card forces a capped reward on you, if you spend more than the maximum amount, then there are no rewards for you. Earlier, I explained that there are various ways to get around this, but some of you may choose to get around that by using this method of actually LOOKING for a credit card that has a requirement, because they usually do not cap rewards if they have a spending requirement.
Yes, this appears to contradict what I have said earlier, but really it doesn't. It just so happens that some people don't want to manage all sorts of credit cards to get around the problem, and these kinds of people spend frequently. They may spend far more with a credit card than others, thus resulting in higher rewards. So, one should understand what one's spending habits are, and to take the best advantage of them. Credit card gas rewards will always differ from person to person, but if you manage it well, you can reap very nice gas rewards.

The conclusion here is that for people who don't spend abnormally large amounts of money with a credit card, it is best to ignore credit cards that do not immediately start to give gas rewards. However, for people who spend large amounts of money and don't want the hassle of having to manage multiple credit cards that all give varying gas rewards and have different rules, then maybe you could look towards such cards that have a spending requirement as a method of getting around capped rewards.

In light of the recent economic problems, I thought perhaps we ought to discuss how it may affect us.
When the credit market froze the way it did recently, one can expect the financial industry to have serious problems. And yes they are having quite the issues now, but fortunately, some institutions now offer greater interest rates on savings accounts, and they've ramped up the rewards. Hopefully that will soon follow for credit cards as well, as loaning to consumers on credit cards is a massive industry, and a huge source of income for banks. The problem is, it appears that credit cards don't have the same kind of treatment from banks, as this is debt on the consumer, and savings accounts are well, loans to the bank. With the economy the way it is, it is probably best to save as much as possible, and also to find credit cards with low interest rates. But I mentioned before some people may want to use credit cards excessively, however, clearly with the economy in such a horrible mess, it would be wise to minimize credit usage, and just cut down on expenses. Find savings wherever possible, then make sure you have less debt and just work on having money for bad times like these. That's why it's also more important than ever to get credit cards that give you the BEST deal. You don't want debt to hang around, and you want to keep savings, so getting gas rewards is a powerful deterrent to excessive credit card debt. You'll be able to save in one area, while enjoying the benefits of convenient credit cards, yet you must also keep in mind that mere gas rewards don't make the credit card perfect. Perhaps we'll talk more on this later.
Get credit card gas rewards now, because this is THE time to save on gas and what better way to do it than with rewards from credit card spending?

Dealing with Credit Card Reward Caps

In an earlier post on dealing with credit card companies for gas rewards, I mentioned 3 main issues that would hurt your gains from using credit card gas rewards. One of these was the rewards limits that some rebate programs place on your purchases. Let's get started in solving the issue, by first examining how do these limits get placed, why they are placed, and then we'll talk about the solution to it.

In a highly profitable industry, individual companies will always seek to bolster their profits, in fact, in ANY kind of economy, companies will try to add to their profits, and minimize the costs of getting these profits. Credit card companies then, are no different. Wherever you may be getting your credit card, most likely from banks, chances are your provider is trying to get as much money out of you as possible. Of course, they don't make much money if you always pay on time, and thus getting no interest, but they do make money on large percentages of the population that don't pay fully, and on time (Well, who would have these credit cards if they didn't need the money anyway right? But no, we're going to take advantage). As you are reading this, you are probably thinking about your own rewards, and why you opted to get a credit card. Part of it may be due to reading this blog, but most likely, you needed the money and also want of more gas rewards.
Now, rewards began because companies wanted to give an incentive for people to take their credit cards. But, they do need to continue profiting, so this incentive will never be extremely high, but they will be rewarding enough, that people may select their credit card for the reward, over a different card. What they want to do then, is to get people to use these cards everyday for all their purchases. Companies want you to buy with these cards even on purchases that either don't give gas rewards, or give very low gas rewards. That is because giving too much money just isn't profitable. However, that's not the only way companies must use to become more profitable. We have to think back to why the companies offer the rewards in the first place. We've already discussed this, and it's because of competition. This competition will help us to get a much better deal. In efforts to get as many customers as possible, credit card companies have to keep their card better than the competitions. If they suddenly withdrew all rewards, they would be knocked out. People use credit card gas rewards for a reason, and part of it is the incentive.

Now here's the important part. Some companies offer extremely high reward percentages when you just begin with them, to attract you to them, and then the reward drops like a rock. Obviously, you shouldn't keep using them at this point. Perhaps less obvious, is that other companies will GLADLY take you in, in hopes of keeping your money in profits. Thus, the technique we have to use is to find a highest reward credit card possible, use it as much as you possibly can, then switch to another one, as a new customer. This eliminates the problems of having your rewards drop out. You can continue to get more credit cards for all your purchases, in order to maximize the amount of gas rebate you get. It's clear then, that using one credit card for a long time simply cannot be a great way to get more gas rewards. What you can do in such a situation is to get a different gas reward credit card after one another always having a credit card. However, that's not the only way to get around the issue of capped rewards, and in fact, I will be giving you another method of getting around the immediate capped rewards when companies off for example a monthly limit on your bonus rewards. I will also later address the issue of companies that may include a lot of fine print, telling you exactly where your rewards apply, and how to get around limits of those, together with getting around monthly or short term limits. In the next few posts, I'm going to resolve the other 2 problems we found with the credit card gas reward companies in today's environment.

Let's summarize what we're talked about today. We discussed the need of companies to beat their competition as part of the way to make profit. We also discussed the reason why incentive on gas reward credit cards actually exist. Then we talked about how to get around reward caps on these gas credit cards by using their need of making profit against them. It's clear that using their competition will have more uses later on. If you just read this article and the previous, you should also check out one of my first articles, on the 3 main characteristics of a good credit card. You see, these are very important when selecting a credit card, but as you may have noticed in this article, they are not intangible. There isn't just one perfect card around. Truly, no card is perfect, because then they wouldn't be profitable. We just have to realize, that we can use one of their guiding principles, of creating profit, to make more profit for ourselves. There are too many banks and credit card companies for there to be low competition. In fact, the worst gas reward credit cards will still offer reasonable gas rewards, because otherwise they wouldn't exist. Most companies then, will have those 3 characteristics, but many of them choose to advertising and focus on main points of their gas reward credit card that separates them, and their competing credit cards.
Let's stop here for now. I've already written a huge deal on this competition aspect, and I will surely expand on it further. Of course, there are still many opportunities to get credit card gas rewards, although it may not necessarily as much as previously, back with gas rewards could be obtained plentifully, and the credit card and loan industry was thriving.
Now, our main focus with this post today, is not about the credit crisis, although that's what I've begun this post with. I want to illustrate something that's being largely shown through this credit crisis, and that's that situations can and will change frequently. I recently stumbled upon a relatively old article (from March 2008), that has some interesting points brought up about how the industry has been changing. Here's some of that, taken from smartmoney.com:

Many card issuers put caps on the amount you can spend each month or year, and still receive rewards. This isn't a recent fine print addition, but because drivers hit these caps more quickly as gas prices rise, it's worth comparing how much you typically spend on gas a month against these limits before selecting a card, says Scott Bilker, founder of DebtSmart.com. The Discover Open Road Card, for example, offers a generous 5% rebate on gas purchases — but that's only for the first $100 spent in each billing period. After that, you'll earn 0.25% to 1%, depending on your overall spending. Someone driving a Honda Accord in Los Angeles, where gas is averaging $3.57 a gallon, would hit the cap during their second fill-up in a given month.

Even with $4 gas expected to arrive within the next few months, you may still not spend enough to get the full reward. Some cards assess rebates based on your total charges on the card, with bigger rewards only taking effect after you've done some big spending. Blue Cash from American Express offers 5% back on "everyday purchases" including gas, but only after you've charged $6,500 on the card in a given year. Prior to reaching that point, such purchases only earn 1%, while all others earn 0.5%.
They also talked about how "...a growing number of savvy customers start taking advantage of the savings that gas rebate cards offer at the pump, credit-card companies are making it tougher for them to reap the cards' benefits."

Yes, the economy is quickly changing, and more people are beginning to realize the potential of credit cards and gas rewards. What does this mean? Well, like they said, the average percentage of return on your gas reward card has gone down from 5% to 3% so that these greedy companies can be more profitable.

But don't feel as if the companies are really smartening up and taking away more of your money. You can still combat them by playing them against each other, and taking advantage of competition. You don't always need to get a great deal right away, because chances are, you won't get one anyway. It's better to negotiate, and how better to do so, by plotting "smart" credit card companies against each other for the best gas rewards?

There are basically several areas of main concern on these gas reward credit cards right now, so let's list them clearly.

1. A capped amount of rewards
2. A prerequisite of a large amount of spending
3. Low rebate percentages or low rewards in general

Each of these problems should be closely examined, and then we must decide on the best way to combat them. The first problem can be addressed quite easily, whereas the second two are stronger problems. The biggest issue here is probably that your gas rewards simply are not rewarding enough anymore, thanks to the way the industry has changed. To tackle these problems, I'll be adding another post later on, to address each of them individually. As I have previously stated, this will involve plotting credit card companies against themselves by taking advantage of their competition, and gaining both quality and quantity, in order to sustain, or even increase your gas reward gains. But it doesn't stop there, as many advisers would tell you, using some of these same techniques will also get you lower interest rates and such. Our main goal is to get a better deal in general. Whether that means to get rebates, or save on interest rates while getting those rebates doesn't matter. The overall goal of having a gas reward credit card, is to get gas rewards, and we want that because we want to save.

However, I won't forget the current state of the economy either, so in time, I will also provide further information concerning how to save in this credit crisis, and continue to make good choices regarding getting gas rewards from your credit cards.

Tags: Credit card gas rewards, credit card, credit card deals, credit card gas rebates, credit rebates, free gas, gas deals, gas rebates, gas rewards, rebate deals, save gas

Nigh upon us to get credit card gas rewards

It's nigh upon us to economize now with credit card gas rewards. It's no longer a choice. It's a critical choice. We need to initialize the process of rebating by applying credit card gas rewards now, else we must come face to face with the issues of a crashing economy and increasing oil and gas prices.

That's what I get is the feeling from many people today. It seems that gone are the easygoing days, the days of not worrying about. There's a compelling force now in what we do, that we have to do something about our credit. It's been ages that we've let oil prices increase unnoticed. Something has to do be done, but we may not have the will to cease it. However, there's something the average Joe and can to help themselves and that is to use rebates for gas on credit cards.

The advantages of credit card gas rewards are certainly enormous. That's the reason we're here to discuss these gas rewards on credit cards. If they were insignificant, then it would be unnecessary to be postulating this matter in relation to rebates on gas spending with credit cards.
Now, credit card gas rewards may have been unnoticed by many people. Maybe they thought it wasn't necessary. Perhaps they thought that gas rebates doesn't help. Well, perhaps they can consider changing their minds now that crude oil prices blasted up enormously, now that the price tag of gas is unbelievable. Perhaps it's that hour to understand how to address the situation, and the obvious choice is to get a credit card with gas rewards, or switch our current card into a credit card that rebates gas rewards. It's that hour to being taking a look at about how we can save on gas, save on purchases, and really, to understand the effects that our receding economy is having on us, the people.

Credit card gas rewards present something enormously of value to us. The key is to be minimize changes, while saving at the same time, and getting gas rewards with your credit card. Why is it that credit cards present such a significant option to us? It is because of our ever heightening requirement to save, and we must find a way to battle or give no attention to the current increasing pricetag on gas. In reality, you may have noticed that gas prices have gone down thanks to the disappearing of consumer confidence in recent weeks. So why are we still concerned? This is because we need to take advantage of this, and commence saving up with gas rewards on credit cards urgently. Who knows how far below gas prices can go? Nobody knew how far gas prices could increase earlier, and now the scenario is reversed. Obviously, we should take advantage of the current gas situation and get some credit card gas rewards. We can't sit around waiting for gas prices to go to 0, because that's not possible, but we do need to get a credit card with gas rewards, so we can start saving. We must get gas rebates starting now, in order to maximize credit card rebate efficiency.

3 things to look for in a gas reward credit card

Credit Card gas rewards are continuing to become a great asset to people everywhere. The big question that everyone has right now, is how to go about getting a gas rewards credit card, and how to maximize the rebates on those credit cards. Now, I can't explain everything here, but what I can do is to list 3 points that are key to finding the right credit card for you. In a later post, I will detail further information and the process of finding such a card. In this post, you will find 3 key tips, some further analysis, and finally a summary of what we're talked about today, so that you can easily remember what you really have to do when searching for a credit card. Let's begin, with 3 points that one should look for in a credit card that provides gas rewards.

Rebate Percentage

What we have to first look at, is the exact percentage of the rebates being provided for gas rewards on the credit that you want to get. We have to realize that without a worthwhile percentage on rebates, we simply cannot maximize our gas rewards. What should we look for? That will depend on exactly what the credit offers, but a good range of rebate percentage is from 3-10%. Anything less is just not worth it, because you cannot maximize your rewards earnings and potential, but anything more is unlikely, and most probably will be a scam or won't give you enough of what you need. Why is this? Let's take an example here. Suppose a credit card gave 100% rewards, which is an astronomical number for gas rewards, but what we need to think of here, is what that card is going to give us rewards ON! If that card only gave rewards on something from a specific company that you've never even heard of, or is too small for you to even purchase any of their products, then why bother? What if the card only offers you the 100% on purchases below $1? These factors must be taken into accounts. That's why choosing a credit card with around 3-10% is just about right. In fact, the biggest, and best credit card companies with the most reputable gas rewards around, generally use those percentages.

Applicable Purchases

As I mentioned in the previous point, it's important to note exactly what purchases are eligible for gas rewards. From the example above, we can see that it can have a major impact on what gas rewards you're going to get, and how you can maximize rewards earnings potential. The best credit cards around, generally give rebates on all gas purchases. When they rebate on gas purchases, many companies tend to give a higher percentage rebate than other purchases, if other purchases are applicable in the first place. It's probably not a good idea to use a credit card that solely applys to gas purchases. There is an exception to this rule however. What you can do, is to get the highest rebate percentage credit card on gas purchases, and use that for all gas purchases, and then use a different card for all your other purchases. There's no rule against this, and it's fine to do this, but I would recommend sticking to one card for gas rewards, and this is only because it's simpler, and you can keep track of your card well. It's best then to look for a credit card that applys rebates to all gas purchases made with the credit card, somewhere in the range of 5-10%, and then also giving gas rewards for all other purchases at around 3%.

Fees, and Hidden Fees

Not all credit cards are created equal, and although some might look exactly the same as another one, when we're talking about benefits of the card, we mustn't forget that some credit cards have a downside to them. I'm talking about the credit cards that seem to give great percentages, lots of applicable purchases for gas rewards, but also happen to implement some sort of hidden, or not hidden fee. You may be using a credit card with a fee right now. When I'm talking about a fee, I don't have the fees associated with late payments or high interest, because those can usually be talked out or waived with some simple threats (which I won't cover here unless requested, because it's really too simple...I mean, just use some common sense). The fees I'm talking about are those fees involved with membership, involved with the eligibility of getting gas rewards, and those that relate to anything else that are either normal or hidden. It's important to keep in mind that some credit cards with gas rewards, can only be obtained if you pay the companies a certain membership fee that could be annually, monthly, or per purchase. Let's just say, there are enough credit cards out there, that if a card includes any fee that you think is unreasonable, just don't take it. In fact, reject any credit card with any membership fee, because having a membership fee for a credit card is unreasonable anyway, especially when you are looking to save with gas rewards.

So I gave you 3 tips on getting great credit cards. What you have to do now, is to balance it. Merely looking at these tips and doing all of it isn't enough just yet. Although it does get you a head start, one must think about their own personal needs, and the reason behind why you are getting a credit card. In today's world, some people get credit cards because it's convenient, some people get them because it is a way for them to save. Still more get them because they need the extra money credit cards provide. When we're talking about gas rewards, it's most likely that you one of the 2nd two categories, or maybe even all 3. What we must do, is to make sure we're really saving with the credit card, and not getting a gas reward credit card for no apparent reason. We need to make sure that by getting these credit cards, we are not jeopardizing anything else. So it's important to remember the risks of a credit card, and not to overspend, even if the goal is to save.

So what have we covered in this post? We covered the 3 key bits that we need to find credit cards. These were the rebate percentages, the applicable purchases, and the fees involved. Finally we discussed the risks and problems with credit cards. Now, you are a bit more ready and prepared to get a good credit card. I will soon follow this up with more information. Stay tuned for more!

Tags: <a Cards'/>
Why get Credit Cards with Gas Rewards

In today's world,it's important to save as much as possible, whenever you can. Credit cards are one such thing that you can save on.
Gas Rewards are an essential part of choosing the right credit card for you. Now, to get a great credit card, on must consider the benefits of them, and whether these benefits are related to your specific needs. Credit Card Gas Rewards are nowadays commonly found, but finding the best credit card that gives the highest amount of cash back and gas rewards can be a difficult task.
Regardless, one must continue to search, because getting credit card gas rewards, is in itself highly rewarding, just as the name suggests.

So why should we aspire to get credit card gas rewards? This is because of several reasons, which I will expand upon at the later date. Perhaps the most important one is to get credit cards to really work for you, not just in the traditional sense of borrowing and buying things that you want to have or that you need to have, but to really gain something valuable from it. Now I'm not saying that you should go out and get any credit card out there, although many credit cards offer different types of rewards. The fact is, getting a credit card with gas rewards at this SPECIFIC time will be even more rewarding than other rewards. Having rebates on your credit card is always great, but for the current time being, getting gas rebates and rewards is just great right now.
One reason for this is the economic crisis. The economic crisis isn't just one small problem. It's going to continue to last for a while, and we need to take advantage of it. Some people say to invest now. Some people say to BUY BUY BUY. Well, whether or not you believe any of that, if you are using a credit card right now, then you've got to look for a way to save with it. Lots of inexperienced people will get credit cards with high rates, bad benefits, or just overall in general a bad card. But you don't have to be this way. With our guidance, you can save with your credit cards by getting gas rebates and other rewards for buying things that you need to buy anyway!

The economic crisis right now is causing significant changes to the everyday used objects and valuable commodities in the world. Oil and gasoline is underway enormous changes. Companies have realized that people can no longer afford to buy gas at the outrageous price it was at previously. This is why it's so critical to start getting some gas rebates RIGHT NOW! With the current price of gasoline much lower than usual, one must take care to use this great opportunity to buy gas and do it, while you are purchasing the other things that you need with your credit card.

Enough of this talk. Let's get serious now, and my next post will be how to find a great credit card with high gas rebates/rewards.

About us

We are simply an anonymous group for would like to help people find great credit cards to fit their needs.
